TRINIDAD

Trinidad cigars are a prestigious Cuban brand known for their handcrafted quality, distinct "pigtail" caps, and complex, refined flavor profiles often featuring notes of cedar, coffee, leather, and earth. Originally created in 1969 as diplomatic gifts, they have a legendary status and were released to the public in 1998. The cigars use premium tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo region and are made at the El Laguito factory. 

 

Key characteristics:
 

  • Flavor: Complex and rich, with notes like wood, coffee, cocoa, nuts (pecan, almond), spices, and hints of chocolate or fruit.
     

  • Origin: The original Cuban brand uses tobacco from Cuba's Vuelta Abajo region. The non-Cuban Trinidad Espiritu lines are made in Nicaragua with Nicaraguan tobaccos and a variety of wrappers, including Brazilian Arapiraca and Mexican San Andres.
     

  • Strength: Primarily medium-bodied, though some Nicaraguan Espiritu lines can be medium-full.
     

  • Wrapper: Cuban for traditional cigars. Espiritu lines use different wrappers, such as Brazilian Arapiraca or Mexican San Andres.
     

  • Filler: Cuban for traditional cigars. Espiritu lines use Nicaraguan fillers.
     

  • Portfolio: Includes traditional Cuban lines like Fundadores and Vigia, as well as the non-Cuban Espiritu series (e.g., Series Two, Series Three).
